Well, I did it, I made a trip down to my in-laws to work on the vanity project and shoot this video. I apologize in advance for the section with the compressor. Maybe one day, I'll make a sound proofed box for the container and keep it out of range of the camera/neighbors.

A Prius and FallOut 4
Well ladies and gents,
Its been almost a month, the weather down here in Central Florida has been dreary to say the least. Hopefully tomorrow, I can make time to go make some headway on my Bathroom Vanity project.
On a side note, I've sold my Hondas and have decided to buy a slightly well, a well owned car. I bought an 04 Prius with only 124k miles, which is really good considering its age. I promised my significant other that I wouldn't dirty it or mess it up as I did the Civics. ;)
I recently purchased FallOut 4 for PC. Lets just say that the community building option of the game are really immersive and though this isn't really a gaming blog. Its really really addicting, I mean if you can't go build in real life due to weather, time, money or having kids pull you in every direction. This game will scratch your creative itch.
Tomorrow, though. It'll be nice out and I'll get some footage taken to post later this week. But if all else fails. I might start talking about my latest play things. Who knows. Stay tuned for the next installment.

New Shorter Name
So I asked a few people I know if I should change the name to something shorter and less annoying to type out and they came up with Leo Builds It... And I actually like it, so I'm running with it. I've created an intro via Animoto.com that my GoPro doesn't recognize so, if anyone knows a good program to convert MP4 video to AVI. I would be really appreciative. Thanks for reading.

Shop Cleaned Out
Hello Everyone,
Good morning, due to unforeseen circumstances and arrangements, my stack of pallet wood has been decimated. Apparently, the insurance company at my father in law's house doesnt like the idea of me having a stack of pallet wood in front of the workshop. So my in law's graciously cleaned out my stash and I've been attempting to keep three entities happy.
But now that it's been cleaned and sorted out. I can setup my tripod and start shooting this week's video. I also have been debating on changing the name of the blog to something easier to say out loud.
So I'll put it out there, these are the options:
1. Keep it as Diary of a Resto-Mod Blog
2. Change it to: Leo Builds ...
3. Change it to Leo Does ...
4. Making with Leo
5. Building with Leo
6. DIYing it with Leo
7. Any suggestions you might think of.

Pallet Wood Bathroom Vanity Part 2
Welcome to the next step in the bathroom vanity project. I have to apologize for the segmentation of the videos not showing each step of the process. I'm working under the assumption that if you're in to the stuff I'm showing then you have a basic grasp of how to use tools or just want the overall portion with not a lot of explaining to go with the posts and videos. I haven't gotten any feedback from the readers of this blog to state the opposite.
So here we go, this week's video, pertains to a status update for the pallet wood bathroom vanity project. So far, the main chasis or frame of the vanity is complete. The bottom has been reinforced by a sheet of 3/4" Lauan plywood. The piece has been sanded and wiped with diluted denatured alcohol in a 20/80 alcohol to water mix.
The unit is smooth and ready for the stain. During my next visit to my in-laws, I'm going to put glue in 1/4" lauan plywood to cover the unsightly holes from the pocket holes as seen in the video. Yes, I could simply plug in the holes but that would entail having to go buy the pocket hole plugs, glue them in to place then sand them smooth.
By using the 1/4" lauan, I'll have a uniform interior to the cabinet, and they 2' X 2' sheet is only $4 at the local hardware store.

Schedules for blog posts and videos / Pallet wood bathroom vanity update
Hello and welcome back!
Well after careful consideration, I've decided that every Wednesday I'll be posting a new post to my blog, in which I'll relay the process of the current project I'm working on as well as any information that might be relevant to the current stage of the project or projects I'm working on.
On Sundays, I'll post the video from that particular week's portion of the project.
Please keep in mind, like most of you, I have an 8 to 5 job and have kids and a semi-supportive spouse. I also live in Florida so weather is always a factor when it comes to cure times for portions of the project.
So for this week's project, I'm working on building a vanity along with a counter-top from scratch using pallet wood. So far I've got the frame of the vanity completed as well as the bottom. The cabinet door frames are in place and I'm waiting on the hinges and other hardware I've ordered from Amazon to arrive.
I'm now using my GoPro, on an almost exclusive method. I'm learning how the camera works, and I'm trying to figure out the whole video editing software that comes along with it. The mount for tripods I ordered is in, I just have to dig out the tripod from my storage closet so I can use it at the shop. I've gotten a big kick from using the time lapse settings to create videos. I'm currently in the process of editing the first video from my sessions at the woodshop.
I'll be back later on to add the video.

Setting a schedule and upcoming projects
One of my biggest issues is time management skills, I spend a lot of my time looking for ways to better manage my time. So in order to keep juggling being a valuable employee, my personal life (fiancee and kids), my fledgling YouTube channel, and playing an occasional video game here and there.
Work: I'm grateful to have an employer that allows me to handle my own time and allows me to function without being micromanaged to an extent. And allows me to doodle plans or ideas while waiting for the end of shift when I'm not particularly busy.
Home: Shared custody of my older kids, means my free weekends are premium time for my projects. And allows me to spend some much needed time doing my hobbies, and getting ready for a more structured schedule for posts such as this one.
YouTube: As I progress through this restructuring of my time, and by sheer luck of coming across an eBay auction for a slightly used GoPro + HD camera. With this I'll be able to step away from using my cell phone to create content and bask in the limelight that is the web from the front of the camera.
Games: I've decided to play my video games whenever the mood strikes or when I have a free period. Yes, I'm going to start using my time wisely and use it as a budgeted resource just like money.
So with this said, here's the link to my latest video, shot on my iPhone.
